Preventative Services
Our #1 goal is prevention. At Everyone by One, we believe that with regular dental visits, proper dental education, and discussions about nutrition and a healthy diet, every child has the right to a healthy smile. We encourage all parents to establish care for your child at an early age because we know how important these early dental experiences are in building the foundation for your child’s oral health.
Dental Exam & Cleanings
At your child’s appointment, we will perform a thorough cleaning and examination that will help us determine an individualized approach to care based on the information gathered. We place high importance on the prevention of dental disease and educate you and your child on various topics that are relevant to the appropriate developmental stage your child is in.
Discussion of your child’s medical history, past and present conditions, presence of any fears, habits and extracurricular activities are all fair game! And don’t be surprised if we ask about mom and dad’s dental health as well; that is just as important!
SEALANTS
We are proud to offer BPA-free dental sealants that safely protect your child’s teeth. It is a thin resin coating that is applied and bonded onto the chewing surfaces of back teeth. Sealants protect these grooves by keeping out the germs and food particles found in plaque and acids. Most tooth decay in children occur on these surfaces where even the toothbrush bristles are not able to effectively clean. By applying sealants, you can minimize the chance of your child getting cavities. With good oral hygiene and avoiding hard candies, sealants can last for years and will be routinely checked by Dr. Chung and Dr. Kim to see if re-application or repair is necessary.

Fluoride
Fluoride treatments are effective in the prevention of tooth decay and cavities because they help to strengthen and remineralize the teeth. Generally, after your child’s examination and cleaning, we will recommend if fluoride treatment is right for them. Be sure to contact us with any questions or to set up an appointment.
Low Radiation Digital Radiography
At Everyone by One we use digital radiography which allows us to instantly obtain site-specific photos and expose the least amount of radiation to your child. Digital x-rays offer 90 percent less radiation than film alone. Digital x-rays allow us to quickly process their results so that we can properly diagnose and treat issues before or when they develop.
Laser Dentistry
A change for the happier
The miracle we’ve both been waiting for is here: Solea. Now available to you, Solea is a powerful dental laser that replaces the dental drill in the majority of procedures in our practice. It causes virtually no pain, vibration or noise. In fact, nearly every patient skips anesthesia because they just don’t need it. Solea is our way of keeping you happy. Because more than anything, we love to see you smile.
WHAT IS THE SOLEA LASER?
Solea is the first CO2 dental laser system cleared by the FDA for hard and soft tissue procedures. Solea offers a unique wavelength guided by sophisticated computers to deliver virtually painless dental procedures for both teeth and gums from simple cavities to complex surgeries.

Composite (Tooth-Colored) Fillings
We use only the best of the best materials for your children. Our composites are BPA-free, gluten-free, and fluoride-free. These composites not only bring beautiful esthetics, but strength to resist fractures. Caries, or tooth decay, is the destruction of your tooth enamel, the hard, outer layer of your teeth. Composite resins, or tooth-colored fillings, provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small to midsize fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth. If maintained properly with good oral hygiene, and avoidance of hard substances, these composites can last for years!
Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a new “cavity-fighting” liquid that can be used to arrest tooth decay. The active ingredient in SDF is silver, which has been used in medicine for over a hundred years due to its potent antimicrobial properties. It is very effective at killing the bacteria that is known to cause tooth decay. Unlike other treatment methods, SDF is applied to the teeth with a brush and it takes less than 1 minute to apply with no noise and no drilling. This makes it a non-invasive, stress-free approach to tooth decay. The significant side effect of SDF is discoloration. Healthy tooth surfaces remain intact, but tooth decay (which is usually brown in color) turns very dark, nearly black, after application. This discoloration is what we look for during follow-up appointments to know that the medication was effective.

Sedation Dentistry
At Everyone by One, we always strive for a positive experience. Sedation can be a very helpful resource for improving comfort and promoting a positive experience when receiving dental treatment. There are many forms of sedation ranging from conscious sedation to general anesthesia. Sometimes children develop fears of the dentist because of the sounds they hear in the office. Others may have difficulty being still for long amounts of time. In either situation, sedation dentistry can assuage fears and anxiety while allowing our team to work without interruption or obstruction.
Nitrous oxide (N2O) is known by many names: nitrous, laughing gas or happy gas. It is a safe, odorless gas that is mixed with oxygen and is breathed through the nose. It is considered a low-grade anesthetic, anxiolytic and a minimal analgesic. For this reason, it can help to lessen the discomfort from local anesthesia, help to minimize any nervousness and reduce the sensitivity to pain. It is also a great tool to control the gag reflex!
Children who are anxious about any treatment at the dentist may benefit from nitrous oxide use. The effects are immediate; the child is completely conscious and the gas is quickly expelled from the body when treatment is completed. Prior to any dental treatment, it is important to determine whether nitrous oxide is the right option for your child. If your child rejects wearing the mask, you may have to consider other sedation options.
We advise a light-meal diet before the appointment if nitrous oxide will be administered. If your child has a cold or allergies, congestion, or trouble breathing through the nose mask, nitrous oxide may be less effective. Please consult with the doctor should you have any questions!
For some children, the use of nitrous oxide with oxygen may not be enough to provide the appropriate care in a safe environment. Fortunately, dental treatment can still be accomplished with oral conscious sedation. This technique uses the administration of medication. The dosage and types of medicine is customized for each child, as they are based on the patient’s age, weight, and dental needs. If oral conscious sedation is recommended, we hope to achieve the following:
Protect the child’s safety and welfare
Minimize anxiety and discomfort
Reduce the potiental for traumatic dental experiences
Provide high-quality care in a safe enviroment
Unfortunately, oral conscious sedation does not work for everyone. After a thorough assessment of your child’s previous dental history, in-office behavior, and the extent of dental treatment required, the use of general anesthesia may be recommended. It is only recommended when the risk of providing treatment while the child is awake outweighs the risks of general anesthesia. The child will be “asleep” while all necessary dental treatment is completed in a single appointment. If general anesthesia is recommended, we hope to achieve the following:
Complete all dental treatments in a single appointment
Eliminate the potential for traumatic dental experiences
Provide high-quality care in a safe environment
